LCR Honda driver Stefan Bradl was starting the race from the pole, ahead of Marquez and Bautista.
Bradl then had a good start and lead the race from now on. Marquez struggled a bit and lost one position to Valentino Rossi on his Yamaha.

Marquez was faster than Rossi and already at the third lap he was doing a risky at the infamous Corkscrew corner and attempted his overtake on Rossi, first on the outside, in order that he gets to the inside in the right hander.
Marquez got passed and hunted Bradl down for 1st. Marquez was following Bradl for quite a long time and then finally made his overtake 14 laps before the end of the race.
Bradl knew he couldn’t go the pace of Marquez and settled for 2nd.
Meanwhile Bautista on his Gresini Honda was putting Rossi under pressure for 3rd until the end of the race.
Pedrosa had a battle with Lorenzo for 5th.
The two Ducati boys Nicky Hayden and Andrea Dovizioso were battling for 8th and even made contact on the start/finish straight.
Marquez just had a controlled race, getting pass CRT traffic and finally winning the race with an advantage of 2.2 seconds over Bradl.
Marquez is the youngest driver ever in MotoGP/500cc World Championship history to make back to back wins.
Rossi was 3rd, Bautista 4th. Crutchlow was on a disappointing 7th position.
CRT: Barbera wins in class

It looked like one of the Aspar drivers, especially Espargaro would win in CRT again.
But Espargero was having a driver error on the 5th lap and overturned. Teammate Randy De Puniet had early engine problems with his bike and had to retire.
So the win was between the FTR Kawasaki from Hector Barbera, Colin Edwards and De Angelis.
All three were battling for 10th overall and 1st in class, Barbera finally got the win.
His teammate Aoyama was 16th and nearly got to the points, but his broken hand impeded a point scoring position.
The next race is at the Indianapolis GP circuit on the 18th of August.
